Escaping the Present...

Escaping the present... That is what we did last Wednesday.

We visited Old Salem in Winston Salem, NC.

We live about 50 minutes from there and we were given a whole years pass, so our friends came up from South Carolina and we went for a visit for the day!

We have know our friends since I was 5, and their youngest son is just a few months older than me.. We have been best friends for a while and it was great just to hang out with him.

We ended up touring most of the buildings and we even got to see a 15 minute puppet show!!

If you ever get a chance to drive through or pay to actually get a tour of the whole place it is well worth it! Their bakery sells great tasty homemade treats too :)

New Friend....

Yup you got that right!! I have a new friend :)

I met Katherine at my writing class at the begining of August, we said Hi a couple times but that was about it :)

Just recently I started talking to her more and realize that she LOVES horses as much as I do!!

So today we met at the barn and rode together.... And we had a blast!!

After we left the barn we instagramed the entire evening :)

Lets just say I am super happy!!



I will be back tomorrow with a funny post about riding... Today I am going to enjoy sewing with another one of my friends :)

Currently

Watching: Dr Quinn Medicine Woman, Snowy River Saga, and Sweet Home Alabama. We don't have TV so I mostly watch old TV shows or movies. Sweet Home Alabama is by far one of my favorites :)


Listening to: Cold Play, One Direction, and For King and Country. I have been putting those artists on Repeat while I take care of the horses or whenever I am listening to music.


Thinking about: New York City. I have been wanting to go since Beginning of September, and have been saving up ever since. I am hoping to go very, very soon!! Also.. my Birthday! My 17th birthday is November 22nd (thanksgiving day) and I have been figuring out the best way to celebrate it!
Oh and makeup. I have been thinking about trying some. I have never actually worn any and I think it will be fun to just play around.


Loving: The weather. Well actually Fall in general. I LOVE the clothes, the drinks and even the food :)


Reading: History books. I haven't had too much time for reading because I have a lot of books I am reading for school! I did get a chance to read "White House Nanny". It is about the nanny to the Kennedy's. Its a great book :)


Making me happy: Friends. I don't have too many friends, so I have to cherish the moments I see them even if it is just a quick "Hi". This past Sunday I got to see a friend that I enjoy seeing and it has made the rest of my week SO much better.
Also my horses. Every day when I go down to the barn my horse Faith itches my back so she can get more carrots. It always puts a smile on face.

Football Jerseys, Happy Gals, Horses, and Lots of Hair?

The subject basically explains my yesterday and today!

My best friends from Kentucky came for a quick visit. It was for just one night but is was still awesome.



I had so much fun!

We played cards, did each other's hair, walked around in football jerseys, laughed, and rode horses.














We had so much fun! And I miss them sooo much now!!

Hope they come back soon, or better yet... we go see them in KY!!

Drinking Summer Up!

Just this past week we enjoyed a little Cook-out with our friends at the local lake!

It was a perfect evening the kids played at the park and we enjoyed hamburgers, hot dogs, and Smores.

Mind you I didn't eat any Smores, but I did eat two pieces of chocolate.

Hey don't judge you have to live a little :)





















Days like these make me so happy to be able to live this life and enjoy all the good in life!

Summer Please don't be Over!

This past summer has been one of the best summers so far!

My family started it off with a beach trip to Florida

It was a lot of fun and it was the first time we went to the beach in 8 years!!

This Summer has been filled with rain showers, so the grass has been beautiful green. The horses Love it :)

We have spent lots of time at the creek (we are going tomorrow and I will take some pictures)

And I have been riding my horses often :)

So this summer has been great!!

We start school August 20th so after that summer will kinda feel like it is over, but hey summer will be back again next year like it does every year :)

I was just thinking yesterday that we are really blessed to live in an age that we can just pick up the phone and just call someone anywhere! You can keep up with friends via email and even see them face to face on skype!!

It is soo amazing to talk to my grandfather and hear him say that when he was a boy they would talk about how one day there would probably be someway to see people over seas, but I doubt they thought it would happen :)

I enjoy so many nights when I talk to friends via skype or chat on gmail and I always think: "what is going to be invented next"
