Chicken Pox.... AKA an Epidemic

Ok.. SO maybe I am over exaggerating about an epidemic... but it is true... My younger Brother has Chicken Pox!!
I am crazy freaking out... because.. I havnt gotten them ever! So I am kinda hoping I might not get it :)

I guess we will see... right now all of us have been quarantined to our house.


I did go riding with a friend who has them before.. and I can still use the Internet.. So I am not quiet cut off from the outside world :)

We actually have people coming over wanting to get chicken pox from us.. crazy, crazy!

How We Celebrate Hanukkah!!

Every year we celebrate the festival of Hanukkah... This year was especially special!

The festival lasts eight days and we have the best time every year. Each night you are given a present... in our family the tradition is that each night a different person gives out a present to each of the family members. Because our family is so big it ends up that every night each person receives a gift.

Our presents can be handmade, store bought, drawn, etc. We light a new candle each night, eat potato pancakes, doughnuts and play dreidel. We have our friends over and have a great time!

Hanukkah is Almost Here!!

Hanukkah starts Tomorrow Night!! I am SO excited.

Hanukkah is seriously my favorite holiday and my family has so much fun together!!

I cant wait to eat potato pancakes, light the candles, make doughnuts, and play dreidel.. oh and eat chocolate :)

Throughout the eight days I will post pictures and share with you how we celebrate!

Today is one of my favorite days.. You eat, you get food coma.. you eat some more.. wonder why you ate so much... and eat again!!

There is food, family, fun, oh did I mention food??

My mom and I have been cooking for two days!!

Making food for a family our size calls for lots of cooking.. and butter :)

My taste buds are tingling with anticipation for all that food I prepared!

Oh and did I mention I am officially seventeen??

This day is great!

When you are giving thanks.. just be thankful for me too :)

The Time When a Skunk came in our house! (AKA Yesterday).

You might ask: "A Skunk in your House?"

OK so the skunk didn't come IN our house but the smell did, so doesn't that count?

Last night some friends came over and they brought their dog.

When they were leaving their dog went off into the bushes, and what greeted her was not a pretty sight!

A skunk.

The skunk sprayed, the smell filled the air, and the dog was consumed by the smell!

How did the smell get in our house??

The windows were open! And the smell quickly made it's way into our house.

We closed the windows and sprayed a ton of air freshener all around, and the smell slowly made it's way out :)

My 3 year old sister's solution to the whole things is we should kill all of the "stunks" and eat them.

So last night was what you might call eventful!

On another note. Today I have been absolutely CONSUMED by school, so I have had to make this post short. Writing essays is not my expertise.

Drinking Summer Up!

Just this past week we enjoyed a little Cook-out with our friends at the local lake!

It was a perfect evening the kids played at the park and we enjoyed hamburgers, hot dogs, and Smores.

Mind you I didn't eat any Smores, but I did eat two pieces of chocolate.

Days like these make me so happy to be able to live this life and enjoy all the good in life!
