Watching: Umm.. Not much. Over the weekend we watched Johnny English. I have watched it a million times but that was the family vote, it is a great movie though :)

Listening to: Pretty much the same music as last week, I have really been enjoying Bruno Mar's new song and this song from JJ Heller.

Thinking about: Boots. I really, really want a pair of cowboy boots!! Also I have been thinking about the sudden cold weather and how I wish I was riding my horse :)

Loving: My winter wardrobe. Does that sound too vain?? I love sweaters and fun dresses with skinny jeans! Also my hair! since I have ad it cut I have been REALLY loving it :)

Reading: Blogs? Really I haven't been reading much! Anytime I read it is school text books, and I then go to bed. My plan is to read a book this week since it is cold and I dont have many plans :) So next week I will have a book I have read!

Making me happy: My little sister. She has always made me happy but this week she has been soo funny and cute! Also my friends!! I know they made me happy last week, but this week they REALLY made me happy! I went and got a Pumpkin Doughnut with my friend after working at the barn and it has been the highlight of my week. Also going to my best friend's house and eating dinner with her family and just having a grand time always makes me happy!

What have you been doing since last Wednesday?? Did you have a good weekend??

Have a great Wednesday,

Sick with the Flu?? Or you want to stay well?? I got a remedy!!

Sunday evening I started getting a really sore throat and my chest kinda hurt, and I thought: "What the heck, a cold already!"

I went into overdrive and pumped myself with whatever I could put in me to get better.

Here is what I did:

- made myself a tea with elderberries in it. then I added honey and lemon.

- put Vicks chest rub on my chest and feet (when I went to bed)

- EmergenC Packet

- Made another relaxing tea to help me sleep

- sniffed tea tree oil

- took 1 tablespoon of Immune Booster Tincture (i made it last year)

- got lots of sleep

By the morning I was 300 times better and was still able to go to my writing class!

Over the next couple of weeks I am going to have posts on how to make tinctures and teas that will help make you feel better!

If you have any requests on what you would like me to make just leave a comment bellow and I will try meet your request!

Be Well,

xo Beatrice

Life in Letters

Photobucket

Life is like a letter, written to no one in particular, just there.

On a frail piece of parchment, to a frail soul.

Happiness, Sadness, Love.

We live as we go along with what life throws at us.

It is not a science, there are no directions. You just kinda hope you made the right choice.

You don't really know what is going to happen the next day, just that it might be very different from the ordinary.

Is there an ordinary?? If everyone is different what exactly is ordinary?? How do you decide??

I guess that is just one of the many unanswered questions I have.

Then I remember.... Life is a Letter. Live like you LOVE Life, Love Uncontrollably, Laugh like there is no tomorrow!

The Time When a Skunk came in our house! (AKA Yesterday).

You might ask: "A Skunk in your House?"

OK so the skunk didn't come IN our house but the smell did, so doesn't that count?

Last night some friends came over and they brought their dog.

When they were leaving their dog went off into the bushes, and what greeted her was not a pretty sight!

A skunk.

The skunk sprayed, the smell filled the air, and the dog was consumed by the smell!

How did the smell get in our house??

The windows were open! And the smell quickly made it's way into our house.

We closed the windows and sprayed a ton of air freshener all around, and the smell slowly made it's way out :)

My 3 year old sister's solution to the whole things is we should kill all of the "stunks" and eat them.

So last night was what you might call eventful!

On another note. Today I have been absolutely CONSUMED by school, so I have had to make this post short. Writing essays is not my expertise.

Till tomorrow,

xo Beatrice

Watching: Dr Quinn Medicine Woman, Snowy River Saga, and Sweet Home Alabama. We don't have TV so I mostly watch old TV shows or movies. Sweet Home Alabama is by far one of my favorites :)

Listening to: Cold Play, One Direction, and For King and Country. I have been putting those artists on Repeat while I take care of the horses or whenever I am listening to music.

Thinking about: New York City. I have been wanting to go since Beginning of September, and have been saving up ever since. I am hoping to go very, very soon!! Also.. my Birthday! My 17th birthday is November 22nd (thanksgiving day) and I have been figuring out the best way to celebrate it!
Oh and makeup. I have been thinking about trying some. I have never actually worn any and I think it will be fun to just play around.

Loving: The weather. Well actually Fall in general. I LOVE the clothes, the drinks and even the food :)

Reading: History books. I haven't had too much time for reading because I have a lot of books I am reading for school! I did get a chance to read "White House Nanny". It is about the nanny to the Kennedy's. Its a great book :)

Making me happy: Friends. I don't have too many friends, so I have to cherish the moments I see them even if it is just a quick "Hi". This past Sunday I got to see a friend that I enjoy seeing and it has made the rest of my week SO much better.
Also my horses. Every day when I go down to the barn my horse Faith itches my back so she can get more carrots. It always puts a smile on face.

So what have you been doing currently?? How is the weather your way?

Hope that you have the best rest of the week ever!

got the idea to do this from Danielle from Sometimes Sweet!

Hay, Manure, and Water?

It seems like half of the time when you tell people, "I have horses". They say "Oh wow sounds like fun".

And I think... FUN?!??

Where the heck have you been? Have you been watching too much of My Friend Flicka or something?

Because Yes there is some fun.. but there is also a lot of work. Unless you are a rich snob who just goes to the barn and rides and never lifts a finger and never touches any manure.

You get my picture?

Here is a picture I took one early freezing morning.

Photobucket

Beautiful, peaceful, COLD!

OK so here I am sounding like a complaining b*tch. Why do I have seven horses then you might ask?

The answer is simple..

I have been lovestruck!! I am IN LOVE!

and they are TOTALLY worth all the hard work, the manure, the pee, the hay, the dirt, EVERYTHING!

I wouldn't change it any other way.

Some mornings I don't really want to go out in the cold/heat. Then get greeted by them and all my complaining thoughts disappear!

Horses are best friends, they are great to talk to because they cant tell anyone your deepest secrets.

My horse Faith knows all my hidden secrets, she has heard all of complaints, and has been there whenever I needed to shed a tear.

So if you have ever wondered why?? Now you know. I am love struck.

Quilt Show, Matchmakers, and Beds??

I know you are going to say Finally!!

That QUILT SHOW you talked about was more than a month ago!

Hey, calm down. I was gone for 5 weeks, remember. OK there, I am not too late.

This is how it went...

Thursday was the heck tick day where everyone runs around like chickens with their heads cut off and tries to hang quilts, get information desks set up, be all set up before the VENDORS come!!

It is just all crazy energy. and what did I do?? I sat around and watched.

NO. Did you really think I am THAT lazy?? What I really did was work my hind end off until it was all done.

I did take an hour off and eat some lunch with ladies at a local restaurant, but that is it otherwise.

OH, there was that Reese Cup I ate, but hey I need my energy!

Photobucket

On Friday bright and early at 8am I was up and ready to teach some people about the history of quilts!

I was involved in helping with the Vintage Bed Turning. It was a stack of vintage quilts on a bed and we would tell the history behind the quilt.

Photobucket
Here I am holding the quilts for the bed turning

Saturday was the same, we did the vintage bed turning demonstration ever hour and I helped out wherever in between. At 4:30pm we started taking down the quilt show and by 6pm it was all over.

Photobucket

My family came and judged on the quilts a watched me give the vintage bed turning demonstration.

My mom was asked if I was her sister, I was asked many times if I was married, and I got my picture taken for the newspaper!

Later on I also found out that a vendor wanted her grandson to start dating me... so I guess all around it was a great weekend!!

Photobucket
Here is my quilt

And to top that off I came home with a Fourth Place Ribbon!! (That might not sound great, but out of 17 other quilts in my category and all better than mine I think I did OK)

If you are ever in the area next year and you want to come we would be glad to have you!!

Over the two days we had over 500 visitors!

I really enjoyed myself :)

Nature, Family, Ice Cream, Friends.....

Photobucket

Can you just feel the beauty?

Saturday consisted of an adventure up to the mountains, a forty five minute drive away.

Photobucket

The views were spectacular, pictures were taken, children asked when the ice cream was going to be ready, tired children awoken from their naps.

Children screaming with excitement. The cool fall breeze reminding you that winter is definitely on it's way!

Photobucket

Ice Cream in the park, pizza at Mellow Mushroom, seeing some friends while we were there, and good old family time.

Leaves where picked and saved, similes where given, happiness was in the air!

Photobucket

Stories where told, jokes given, tired and happy we all went to sleep.

The End

I am Back!!

Photobucket

Dear Blogger,
I have missed you! This past five weeks I have conquered my challenging school and I am back refreshed and ready for you!
Hope I haven't missed too much, I have tried to read all the blog posts that I have missed, but that is difficult.
While I was away was able to think up ways to write more creatively and have a little fun!
Happy to be Back,
Beatrice
